David Warner simply had no choice but to complete his celebration routine. He simply had to leap and punch the air like only he does. Even if it meant putting his already besieged body into further strife. Even if it meant taking his already immobilised body towards complete shutdown. For, without it the David Warner show wouldn't have been complete.
There was in fact a point, where you could almost sense that very thought come to Warner himself. It was right after he'd finished the first bit of his celebration. Going down to his knees and double fisting the air, like he'd won the Australian Open next door at the Rod Laver Arena. A brief pause before he put in his trademark leap even if it meant his body was fully limp by the time he subsequently landed on his right leg. It all felt worth it though. Not only in that moment but right through the next 7-8 minutes or so as he literally crawled to safety over the ropes. Even as thousands kept standing and applauding in awe as the champion opener somehow made his way off the MCG. The agony and the pain would eventually have felt worth it for Warner too. He simply had no choice.
Just like how it wasn't enough for Ric Flair to win a match without him laying a few of chops and inciting many Woo'sfrom the crowd. Just like how It wasn't enough if Jimi Hendrix just played his best set without him going down on his knees and pulling off a mesmerizingly impromptu guitar solo. Just like it wasn't enough for Hulk Hogan to simply drop the big leg on his opponent without him tearing his singlet apart and cupping his ears to every section of the crowd. You simply had to see it all.
