India vs Hong Kong, Asia Cup 2022 Live Streaming: India have defeated Hong Kong by 40 runs. Hong Kong got off to a good start with Babar Hayat playing some crisp shots. However, once the spinners came, runs scoring was very difficult. India move into the Super 4s with two wins in two games.

A magnificent half-century for Virat Kohli off 40 balls. Looked so good ever since he arrived at the crease. Kohli has equalled Rohit Sharma’s record of most 50s in T20Is. He has 31 50s to his name. Suryakumar Yadav also played a magnificent knock of 68 off 26 to take India to a massive score.

Virat Kohli is looking good and glimpses of Vintage Kohli are clearly visible. He is joined by Suryakumar Yadav, who is also putting on a visual spectacle. Should be fun the final few overs.

A good start by India this. KL Rahul and Rohit took some time early on but both started playing their shots from the third over. Rohit, Rahul scored 22 off the third over by Haroon Arshad. Rohit was looking good but fell to Aryan Shukla. Now Virat Kohli is at the crease, can he score big here?

After defeating Pakistan, Rohit Sharma‘s India will look to continue their winning run against Hong Kong. The likes of KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are not in the best form and it will be a good opportunity for them to score a few runs and get their confidence back.

Hardik Pandya had a terrific game against Pakistan but he may be rested for this game to allow Deepak Hooda a game. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal will pose all sorts of trouble for Hong Kong batters. Meanwhile, Hong Kong will rest their hopes on Babar Hayat, Nizakat Khan, Ehsan Khan and others.

Asia Cup Cricket 2022, Match 3: Afghanistan beat Bangladesh By Seven Wickets

Afghanistan on Tuesday became the first team to qualify for the Asia Cup 2022, Super Fours with a thumping win over Bangladesh in their Group B match. After losing the toss, Afghanistan restricted Bangladesh to 127/7 in Sharjah, then chased down the target with nine balls to spare. Ibrahim and Najibullah Zadran posted an unbeaten 69-run stand for the Afghans to seal the win. Earlier, Afghan spinners Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khan took three wickets each. For Bangladesh, Mosaddek Hossain was the top scorer with an unbeaten 48.

Wily Bhuvneshwar comes with recalibration tricks

The 2022 version of Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been a breath of fresh air for this Indian side. He has picked 24 wickets in 18 T20Is - only behind Sandeep Lamichhane and Joshua Little - and is back to being a PowerPlay menace with 13 wickets in this phase. The forlorn, ineffective figure of last year's T20 World Cup is long gone as the white ball is moving to his tunes again. This brings us to another sultry evening in Dubai, where swing was a major absentee.

"Before bowling the first ball, I thought it was going to swing. There was no swing but there was a bit of bounce. We knew we had to bowl wicket to wicket, so bowling short was the plan," he'd admit in the innings break.

Against a side with a risk-averse strategy at the top, Bhuvneshwar used the short ball as a rabbit out of his hat. Babar Azam was getting himself into driving positions against straighter and fuller lengths, so the bouncer that arrived after a succession of pitched up deliveries had the desired effect on the Pakistan captain - the top-edge off a pull going to the short fine leg fielder. It's not a delivery Bhuvneshwar often resorts to, but the quick recalibration brought instant gratification. The conditions didn't set Bhuvneshwar up for the typical early breakthrough, but, like clockwork, it came anyway.

Deck-hitter Hardik will be a treat in Dubai... and Australia

On a tacky pitch with a bit of bounce on it, Hardik Pandya's best bowling traits shone through like the brightest star on a night of clear skies. He kept digging in at hard Test match lengths at 140 kmph, slipping in bouncers at will that earned him all three of his wickets.

IND Vs PAK, Asia Cup Cricket 2022: Hardik Pandya Aces Nervy Chase To Help India Beat Pakistan - Highlights

India started their Asia Cup title defense with a thrilling five-wicket win over arch-rivals Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday. And the star of the match was Hardik Pandya, who took three wickets and then played a match-winning, unbeaten knock of 33 runs off 17 balls. Chasing a target of 148 runs, India lost opener KL Rahul to debutant Naseem Shah the second ball. Then Rohit Sharma (12) and Virat Kohli (35) steady the innings, but Pakistan hit back with quick wickets.

It was followed by a 52-run stand between Ravindra Jadeja (35) and Pandya. Earlier, Rohit won the toss and opted to bowl first. And for the first time, Indian pacers claimed all ten wickets in a T20I innings as Bhuvneshwar Kumar & Co. dismissed Pakistan for 147 all out. Bhuvi registered figures of 4/26 while Pandya got three for 25. Young pacer Arshdeep Singh got a brace. Avesh Khan took one. India next play Hong Kong in their second and final Group A match at the same venue on Wednesday.

Shane Watson reveals his Asia Cup predictions

With the 2022 Asia Cup fast approaching, Shane Watson has made some big calls in the latest episode of The ICC Review, including making his pick for the overall winner, declaring why Virat Kohli is primed to return to form and pondering whether Pakistan can get one over India again.

The T20I tournament is set to begin on 27 August in the UAE, and there’s plenty of intrigue surrounding it with the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia just around the corner as well.

Who will win the Asia Cup 2022?

There are many strong contenders – India and Pakistan favoured most among them – but Watson picked India to win the tournament.

India have won 19 of their 24 T20Is since the end of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup last year and have thrived with a new approach under captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid.

Watson makes predictions about Asia Cup 2022

"My predicted winner is India," Watson told Sanjana Ganesan on The ICC Review. “They’re so strong and depending on what the conditions are, they adapt easily to conditions."

When quizzed on the biggest threat to India’s success, Watson was quick to pick arch-rivals Pakistan and said the winner of the India-Pakistan clash – on 28 August – would go on to win the tournament.

Shane Watson Predicts Winner Of Asia Cup 2022 Ahead Of The India vs Pakistan Match

Former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson has named his choice for the winner of the upcoming Asia Cup 2022 tournament. The tournament which was to be held in Sri Lanka had to be moved to UAE and will be played in Dubai and Sharjah from August 27, 2022, onwards.

Seven-time champions India will defend their title having won the Asia Cup the previous two times, in the T20 format in 2016 and in the ODI format in 2018. Rohit Sharma was the captain when India won in 2018 and now he returns to defend his trophy.

India will be opening their account in the tournament on August 28, 2022, against arch-rivals Pakistan, whom they had defeated thrice in 2018. But the match in Dubai will also be the first time these two teams meet after Pakistan recorded their first-ever win over India in a World cup match when they defeated India by 10 wickets in the 2021 T20 World Cup.

The other teams participating in the tournament are Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh and one team from Singapore, Kuwait, UAE, and Hong Kong will join them to make the main six-team tournament.

In conversation with popular sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan on The ICC Review, Watson backed India to retain the Asia Cup crown in the UAE.

“My predicted winner is India. That first game is going to be very special to watch because Pakistan have full belief now that they can beat this Indian team. I think, really, whoever wins that game is going to go on and win the Asia Cup. [But] I’ve just got a feeling India [will win the tournament]. They’ve got so much firepower all the way through their batting order, so it’s going to be hard to be able to contain them,” Watson told Sanjana ahead of the high-voltage clash between India and Pakistan.
